Since moving in with my daughter, I have a number of homeless houseplants! Between the dogs and the kids, inside plants are in frequent danger of being eaten and/or uprooted, so I'm going to be needing to find homes for some of my babies.

These pothos were all started from one struggling plant that I rescued from a client's garbage 20 years ago

And these....um....senior moment!! Forgotten the name! They were also started from a single small plant that someone gave me. I no longer have the original plant, but these offshoots are thriving!

I took the photo of that first one at a weird angle. It's sitting on the kitchen counter, and is as full and long, if not more so, than the second one, it just doesn't look like it.

And then there's this peace lily

Plus a small variety of other plants....a christmas cactus, some smaller pothos (yet more cuttings from the original) a mother in law etc.

I might be able to use a couple of those pothos when I get the armoire that is being refinished for me right now. It's tall, so maybe two pothos can sit on the top and trail down either side. I'll have to see.

I wish you all lived closer!!! I'd love to give these to my gardening buddies!

I often take plants to work to give away. I often dress them up a little and put a note "random act of kindness" or something like that. Those random cuttings get a new home and for those with a black thumb it gives them a new chance at success. Whether giving them secretly or in person I let them go. Have been averaging getting rid of a plant or two a month. Keeps my plant clutter at a minimum.

Also do some research for plant exchanges. Almost every community has them now. If you can't find those there are always groups with plant sales often to support charity groups.

Or maybe someone here would like them sent to them if they paid for postage.

Is there an Oncology/Cancer center in your area? The nurse at my Oncologist office love to have plants around the waiting room to take the starkness away and make it more comfy feeling.

Some nursing homes will take them too to put in the TV room or dining room.

I really appreciate all your suggestions!

After I posted this a new development happened. Some very dear friends of mine and I decided on an impromptu and informal weekend get together/reunion here in Nashville. W'd been talking about it for some time, and it all just sort of gelled over a 24 hour period. They're driving from Georgia, Florida and Alabama, and one is even flying in from New Mexico!

Anyway, those who are driving will be leaving with a plant or two each. I LOVE that my treasured plants will be finding new homes with folks I care about, and I'll even be able to see how they're doing when I go visit these friends!

I'll use your suggestions to distribute whatever is left, if anything.
