Lighting, and of course, the thunder woke me up first. Then the hail started and woke me up...3 separate times. It was stopping and starting. Most of my plants are going dormant now so it only did a small amount of damage. The largest was only 1/2 inch across.

Oh my, I'm so glad you only had minimal damage to your plants. That is quite a bit of hail! We occasionally get it here--hate the sound of it hitting the roof and watching it bounce around the yard.
--you must get some large hail there in Idaho!

Hi 2ofus, if I got hail that large where I live I'd be on the first plane out :) I'm glad there wasn't much damage.

We get pea sized hail here but very rarely any as big as yours. I much prefer snow.

We get hail once in a while but with that we have tornado conditions. I don't like that.

Oo! That was a serious storm (or series of storms). I am just glad for you that it came now and not back in the summer when lovely things were growing.

We were lucky it happened this late. We've had a odd weather all year. We had so much rain that we broke the record for over 50 years and the worst garden ever. Not many things like to sit in soggy soil for weeks! I just hope the winter doesn't follow the same pattern and we end up with lots of snow.

Glad you did not have damage from the hail. It looks chilly though!
We also have had a strange summer, cool and lots of rain.
I am hoping we get some snow, last year we barely had any (after a couple winters of getting piled on thick)
If you want, send the snow here! I'll be sitting cozy, watching from my big window. ;)
