One of the Kaffir Lily (Schizostylis coccinea ) clumps that I bought in September is beautifully blooming in the front yard. I didn't even plant it to the ground yet. They bloomed beautifully all summer and there are still a few more. The plants in containers looks all scraggly right now but I appreciate the bright colors. Not only are the nasturtium flowers very beautiful, but when the leaves are lush and green, they are a sight by themselves. The other day, my son said that there was a tennis ball in the yard when he looked out of the backyard door. Turns out the wind had toppled the dahlia in container. Pretty color. I hope it blooms more profusely when I put it in the ground next year. This year it remained in the pot I had brought it in from the garage sale. The couple in the backyard didn't produce a single bloom either. It grew so very slow. I wonder why. Will try again next year. The mums needs to go in the ground soon too. You still have a tremendous amount of colour going on there. That's great. I like that Nasturtium also. Interesting, that. I once made a rack and let them grow up it. It was a sight! --A wall of green with the flowers sprinkled throughout. Yeah...I like Nasturtiums.
How beautiful. Sad to say all of my flowers have succumb to frost and cold weather. It was sad. I had a few poppies that even did not get a chance to bloom. But my kale is still green and yummy. Will need to pick the rest tomorrow.
