    There are some great looking ducks when you see them up close, these pintails are among them. The other is a male Golden-eye.

    Is it quite often that the males are the more showy birds Kildale?

    The males are all more showy except the belted kingfisher when the female wins out.

    We have Golden Eyes here and they are really striking birds, especially the male. I have only once or twice seen a Pintail though and never managed to get a photograph of one.
