This week has been awesome for all of the birds that I have seen. We just got another round of snow last night so some pictures are after the first snow had melted....the squirrel seems to be enjoying himself and he was hiding peanuts for my dogs to find again. I did have other birds but this will give you an idea of what was going on... Squirrel.. ( photo / image / picture from Sherry8's Garden ) Blue Jay... Sherry, those are great photos, and it is amazing the variety of birds you have. We had our first junco of the season last week, and this week we had a Harris' Hawk, which is kind of unusual for this area. Please keep the photos and descriptions coming! I enjoy seeing snow in your pictures, just not so much in reality .
Awesome pics Sherry! I have seen most of those birds here, except the Starlings are gone and I haven't seen any of my Junco's yet. I've seen a different looking hawk around here lately and I have just identified it as a Rough Legged Hawk. It would be great if I could get a picture of it like yours
Gorgeous photos Sherry! Really a pleasure to view. I'm curious, do the squirrels chase the birds away or vice versa?
What a variety of birds and I love the picture of the squirrel. I wished I had the variety of birds you have but I do enjoy watching the few varieties that come to my feeder.
Thank you waretrop, marlingardener,Netty, Frank and 2ofus. I am glad you can't notice my spotty window from the rain we had before the snow. Frank...the squirrels will chase other squirrels but usually just leave the smaller birds on the tray with them. I think the larger birds fly in so fast that it scares the squirrel and they jump off or hide in the attic on my large feeder when they are out there. Many times we have gone to put seed on the tray only to see the squirrel resting up there. He knows where he is safe . He knows enough not to be out in the open if the Coopers hawk comes but I think the hawk prefers the smaller birds. I have a larger hawk and when he flys around, everything hides. It is always dead silent out in the yard when the hawk is near or an Eagle flys over.
Sherry's Bird and Squirrel Portrait Studio. Clients can have pictures for peanuts. Great photos Sherry. You still have starlings? The last i saw of starlings they had their suitcases packed and were flying south. Jerry
