After many years with my Christmas cactus' I decided to pass them on to new people who might appreciate them more. Off to work they went to be snapped up by willing co-workers. A friend gifted me a beautiful poinsettia so I am back in the color. Then while in the home improvement store I saw another red gem, a Antherium. They add a cheery accent to the livingroom, nicely replacing the bloomed out cactus. Any new indoor plants for to help you get through the winter months?
Yours look great! I also hang onto poinsettias as for me, they don't look as much like the holidays as they do a tropical beauty, just like your beautiful Antherium. I rely on forcing bulbs through the winter to keep me sane too. I have a key lime that's about 2 years old now, started from seed in the house. I enjoy tropical hibiscus and my African violets too. I want to grow Some ginger too indoors, just haven't gotten around to putting it together but it's been rattling in the back of my head as "oh that might be nice to try! Heh! Oh I wish spring would get here soon!
Love the color of your antherium! I've got just a few indoor plants, none bloom except for the Christmas Cactus. Maybe I need to get something blooming for next winter to help with the winter blues?
It's nice to see these flowers during the holiday. I keep them in the house during this time but after the holiday is over, out they go to the greenhouse. I usually don't keep plants on the house.
Your antherium is gorgeous and with the poinsettia looking so good beside it I can see why they really cheer you up.
Love the bright red colors. I have a small Antherium in a bottle in the kitchen and it's time to up-pot it this spring so it can get as large and bloom filled as yours.
