They are really pretty birds. As usual, the males are much more colorful than the females I see. I like the photo of the drake with the reflection showing in the water.
If I am not mistaken these are wood ducks. I have never seen one. I am aware that they require a special wooden bird house? If one were to build one It would have a tunnel to prevent predators from absconding with the eggs? There are no wood ducks living in my 8x13 pond :-( . Nice pix. Jerry
It looks as though there's a nice breeding flock of Wood ducks on the small pond. Am I right it thinking that these ducks are perching ducks and they nest in tree holes? I'm sure I read somewhere that they are.
