To all our members on the east coast who are anticipating the crippling storm, please stay safe and warm!
Reuters is reporting a "crippling" storm with possibly three feet of snow. Residents are being urged to stay home, and over 2000 flights have been cancelled.
Please check in with the Stew so we will know you are all right. Until then, we'll all be hoping that the storm isn't as bad as predicted, and that everyone makes it through.

Yes, it is going to hit us in New Brunswick late tonight and all day tomorrow. I am on the coast so will get the brunt of it. With the high winds in the forecast is going to make some very high drifts! We are as prepared as can be and hoping not to lose hydro. Generator is gassed up and ready just in case. Lots of cancellations have been announced as well.

We have a niece who lives along the Hudson River north of NYC. She said she has food bought, has her son picked up from school and is already for the snow. I would never be ready for that much snow if I had to go outside in it. Hope she has an alternate heat source because they expect the electric to be down for awhile.

    Chrisle Glad you are prepared.

I have about 30 gallons of gas in reserve for the generators.I am not happy with that amount but that's between my hubby and me. I don't mind those red plastic jugs lined up with the blue ones and propane bottles.

I have enough food to last me a year. I can make bread. I have store boxed milk and plenty of eggs LOL. Plenty of water put away.

    Come'on nor'eastern, hit us....we don't care....

Feel for people going y through this. And not able to park cars off streets. To have them buried after storms.

Well we have gassed up our snow shovels and put directional signs out for the snowdrifts. I'd say we are ready too!

Hope everyone is safe! The storm is barely going to touch us. I think my area is perfect for not getting hit by such storms, we got barely anything from the buffalo winter storm and are too far inland for this one as well!!

Part of that is what came through here on Monday. We only got about 3 inches. But it has joined up with one going north along the coast and strengthened. Cold here, it's at 0 F.

We got 4.5 inches until about 5 last evening, Monday. It tracked just a little more east than they thought it would so the second part of the storm didn't hit us. That was going to be the worst part for us. We missed it and only had to plow one time on this storm.

Hubby couldn't go to work because he had to travel to NJ and they had a travel ban on. ONE THOUSAND DOLLAR fine if you get caught driving in NJ. for the driver and the boss.

Kind of unusual...They will lift the ban at around noon but my favorite hubby chooses not to go in at all. COOL...for me. I love having him home.

    First snow for us.

Hope it's the last. It's pretty but that's all I can say about it.

According to this morning's reports, the east coast wasn't hit nearly as hard as predicted. There is a two-hour delay for schools and Federal workers in Washington, New York's Central Park got 6" of snow, and most of the travel bans have been lifted.
I'm so happy it wasn't as bad as predicted, but even happier that folks took it seriously and acted responsibly (stayed home!).
