Winter Flowers

    I have never noticed the jays or any birds going for the coco mats. But after thinking about it they do seem to get thinner and I just thought it was how they are made. I do line my hanging baskets with newspaper inside of the coco mat to help hold in moisture. I have even tried using a kids diaper but I really don't like having to buy a bag just for a few hanging planters....I will try the perlite to the mix if I try it again. Thank you Jewell... :-D

    @Jewell, I am so glad I came across your post. The photos of wild violets and snowdrops gives one the encouragement of SPRING.

    I have noticed the mats getting pulled apart in my other hanging baskets...I think it was the little gold finches...:):)
