Now why didn't any of us think of that idea before? It looks really good hanging there and would add a touch of class to a conservatory or even a bathroom.
Gardenelf, is there a Restore near you, run by Habitat for Humanity? I've seen chandeliers there for extremely low prices. Contractors and remodelers bring in things and the store sells them for moderate prices, then put the proceeds toward building homes. We wander through about once a month, and have found hardware, doors, and even potting soil a landscaper brought in! Whoo-hoo!!!
Donna & Marlingardener: Oh, how I wish we had stores like that here in The Netherlands, but nope, nothing even remotely like it There is the occasional carbootsale, and in my town there are a couple of (very) small 2nd hand shops. I'll keep checking those out, who knows, I may get lucky one day . You guys will be the first to know!

We have donated a lot of household items to the Restore...we put in a larger bathroom door so we gave them the old one, we donated the vanity we had, etc. They were all in great shape....I haven't shopped there, just donated to them and they picked things up right from the house. I love the chandelier too...I would put it on a pulley so I could water the plants...
That store is a great place to find things to do crafts with and turn the finds into something new. I like shopping at that place as well as Goodwill. Donated items are just as good to buy as regular items.
Yeah exactly. The flea market is a great place to find items to make into something else for a great price. The prices at the flea market are the best, plus you can usually get the price down a couple bucks which is GREAT!
A very amazing and refreshing idea indeed! Could be a challenge to water, as in my kind of hot climate plants in small containers sometimes need to be watered twice a day - But still, the aesthetically pleasing factor clearly makes up for all the extra labor when it would come to watering. So all in all, an excellent idea!
