Jane I was hoping we'd see more photographs of your garden beds. I'm always impressed at how good they look. They're so neat and tidy compared to mine. I really like the way the silver foliage stands out against the other planting.
Netty and Eileen, the silvery foliage is artemesia Silver Queen. It spreads by root and I yank out handfuls every once in a while, but it does make a good backdrop for flowers. They may look neat and tidy, but that's because we don't take any close-up shots!
It's very pretty. I like the red rose and is the pink flowering bush a rose also? It sure stands out along with the artemesia.
2ofus, yes, both the pinks are roses. The smaller one is Caldwell's Pink, and the big one (and it is big, about 8' across and 6' high) is one that I grew from a cutting, and I don't know the name. My husband just calls it "The Monster"!
