I shall write a separate thread for this city and its inhabitants, and so will pick up the story again now from when we left Ålesund.

When we left, we decided to go down through the Trollveggen area. The views there are so spectacular and dramatic that most of it would not fit on my camera. The mountains and their slopes were so high and steep and one is always so close to them, it just made it difficult to photograph. This will give some idea.

Eventually we began to head more eastwards and there the landscape became gentler and not so wild. It was different, but none-the-less beautiful.

There were more waterfalls though and deep gorges, to be sure….

We encountered this couple, put away for the season.

On a little hike we saw this lizard and noticed that it had a tick!

    More scenery…

Well, it has been a long journey that we have had together. Wonderful places to see and things to experience, but it is time for the sun to set on this adventure.

It's really evident that the Norwegian people know how to look after their environment, just beautiful.
I was expecting to see a troll or two in at least one of your photos :D

Gorgeous scenery Sjoerd some of which could have been taken in our highlands as they are very similar. I love the waterfalls and that wonderful sunset. I see that the lizard has a tick on it - I hope it's not too detrimental to its health. Thanks for taking the time to share you vacation with us.

FRANK--Yeah, one can't go to Norway and NOT encounter a troll, right?;) I was also under the impression that the Norwegians were aware of their natural resources and took good care preserving them.

Thanks TONI--I'm glad that you liked the series. Everything there was cool and clean.

You are welcome EILEEN--I know that some scenes do look a lot like places in the highlands there. When I visited Scotland once, it really made an impression on me. One that I have never forgotten.

You are very welcome, CHRISLE--I am well chuffed that you liked the pics.

I've read through your Denmark and Norway threads. You had quite a trip, didn't you? And you noticed things we Norwegians take for granted, like narrow roads, lots of tunnels, gorgeous scenery, salmon hatcheries and trolls. ;) I believe you met a lot of trolls on your trip. Come on, confess!
