We're in a new house and it's too cold outside now to work on the outside garden, so I'm working on the houseplants instead. I'd like the English ivy to fill in enough to substitute for a valance over this pass-through window.
That is a unique idea, and as long as none of the ivy leaves sneak into food going through the pass-through, it's a good idea. English Ivy is toxic to small children and pets, so please be careful!
I don't actually pass food through that window, but it's definitely something that I would be careful about. I use that room as a more of a sitting/reading room, not a dining room.
It looks so healthy and is going to be very pretty when it fills in around the pass through. Plus it will be pretty looking through it from the kitchen.
