It was again time for the yearly gardening expo here. We took off for a couple of days and headed down south. I was going to place a link on here so you could read about it but the website has no English version. This expo had lots of garden decorations and vaguely related items. There were some truly related gardening items but they were few. I managed to find a few interesting things: This is a type of hoe that you can use and it does not bring your plants into danger as you are removing weeds. You can push or pull to cut the weeds. The next foto shows some double hollyhocks (in a white plastic bag at the bottom and below)...5 for five euro's. To the left 3 bags of 50 crocuses. The small bag of narcis bulbs was a gift. You can see two tall "pots" and they hold new blueberry bushes. It waas fun as always and the hall was enormous and one is forced to walk using the "museum gait"...slenteren as we say--it wears you right out. It is sort of like ambling...but slower. We spent the night in a small and inexpensive hotel overlook a river with a ferry. This "roadhouse" and ferry have been at this spot since the 1300's. The hotel only has 4 rooms, so it was cozy. The restaurant was very good and the personnel excellent. The next day we took small roads back home and stopped twice to take hikes. at one place we came upon this tower literally in the middle of nowhere. We climbed it and had a looksy. It had eight sets of stairs with 16 stairs in each set....go do the math. I could have another good night's sleep when we got home.
Congratulations on your catch. That's a spiffy tool. I guess it comes in handy when you care for your new acquisitions. And that's what I call an outlook tower! I bet you could see a long way from up there. Where are the photos of the view?
No piccies from up above...the truth was that while a grand vista for km's and km's, it was all flat and just tree tops as far as the eye could see.
It's Garden Show time here soon, I can't wait! That looks like a handy tool, let us know how it works.
Ooh, color me green with envy (in a good way ). It looks like you had a splendid outing with interesting stops and that crystal blue sky overhead ... and bringing home spring gardening goodies, too? ... well, that's icing on the cake, isn't it?
OK I got dizzy just LOOKING at that tower!!!! I am most definitely not a fan of heights! The rest of the photos were cool though., Sounds like a fun time!
I'm with Ronni as I don't like heights either - even if I could climb way up there I'd probably freeze and would have to be rescued. I do like the looks of your new garden tool though and would love to hear how well it does it job.
Wow NETTY-- I can't wait either, because you're gonna post some piccies aren't you. I sure will let you now how it works. Sorry about colouring you green, ZUZU--I Hope it comes out in the wash (except for you thumbs). Yeah, the goodies were indeed the icing on the cake. It really was quite high, RONNI--annnnnd you could see through the steps as you climbed. I had a great time. Thanks 2OF--it really was a good time. EILEEN--Glad you like the looks of that unusual tool. I'll post some pics when I get a handle for it and the ground is dry enough to use it.
Ohh! Seeing through the steps would have definitely stopped me! I looked on-line for the tool you bought but couldn't find one. It looks like it would be great as it could be pushed forward and back to wipe out the weeds with disturbing the soil a lot.
Well, the height wasn't so bad...but I was disappointed that I couldn't run up all those stairs in one go anymore....
