Hello everyone...it's been a long time since I've been on here but I see the many new changes to the site and in your lives. I've had a busy year and have made changes of my own. First being that I FINALLY took that leap of faith and left my previous job of 9 years last February and landed into my unexpected CAREER in September!! Hubby is FINALLY in his last year of Machinist school (3 years) and will be graduating in December of this year and he just started in what we believe will be, his dream CAREER, literally yesterday..CNC Machinist!!!! I believe most of you may remember that it has only been me working for all of this time and my goodness did we go through a lot of what we can and cannot live without...no cable. We have learned valuable lessons in order to prepare for the rewards of being faithful. We are still in the apartment but hopefully will be looking for a house by year's end...I will probably try hydroponics this year!!! Stay tuned!! Miss you all!
So good to see you back, and to hear all the good news! Congratulations on your new job, and hubby's training success and his new job, also! Hope you find your dream home with lots of room for gardening--please keep us updated on your projects and progress.
Wow you really have been having a busy time since last you where here. Glad to have you back and looking forward to hearing about your hydroponics adventure.
It's so good to see you posting here again. I hope the new job is all you wanted it to be and tell hubby that we're proud of him. What a wonderful Christmas gift his graduation will be for you both. WELCOME HOME.
Good to see you back... You have been making big changes in your life. Change is good. It keeps you on your toes and young....
Well, I guess I hadn't landed here yet when you were last here. But welcome back anyway...can't imagine life without my Stewie friends.
Welcome home, hummerbum. Neither wonder you've been busy! I'm looking forward to hearing about how your plans work out.
Thank you everyone...glad to see the oldies as well as the newbies on here. I've missed all the pictures of your gardens and because I am in the apt it causes me to do some thinking outside of the box....lol. I will have to post my "grow box" that I made out of a Gazelle box (workout equipment) laying around the house for about 3 years, pvc pipe, a shop light and lots of foil...not pretty but effective.....I'll try to post it when I get home from work this evening.
That I think is an excellent career choice! I too have experience in machine tools - So yes, it really can be very rewarding at times, (as well as profitable too)! CNC is good, and so is the new concept of 3D printing. But unfortunately 3D printing in metal (instead of plastic) still has some issues... Still, as time goes by, this too will eventually fall in place! I'm actually into 3D CAD (computer aided designing), so dealing with machine tools like lathe and milling are things which cannot be avoided in my line of work! So I'm happy to learn that other people are still interested in exploring this wonderful field!
