You may remember when I came home from getting a haircut, and my husband had visited a grocery and returned with a coconut. He drew a cute face, and that coconut, named Kevin, has been on our kitchen counter for a while.http://www.gardenstew.com/threads/cant-leave-hubby-on-his-own.36553/#post-332220 Kevin was getting bored, and wanted to have some fun. Mardi Gras is coming up, so he got ready to party hearty! There used to be a tradition of the Krews (groups that made floats for the Mardi Gras parade) to throw coconuts into the crowd. After a few concussions, the tradition was abandoned, but Kevin wanted to take part in Mardi Gras, so he got a mask and is ready to have fun. Stay tuned for more Kevin the Coconut festivities!
Kevin doesn't plan on wearing a bonnet for Easter (he has other ideas) but Valentine's Day is coming up . . . .
Kevin lives in hope, so he bought a box of chocolates just in case a girlfriend suddenly appears. There aren't too many coconuts in the neighborhood (although we have a plethora of plain "nuts") so he may have to eat the chocolates himself.
Aww poor wee chap sitting all alone. I hope the chocs work and he finds someone to alleviate his lonely existence soon. Maybe he should try internet dating.
Kevin hates to let a holiday go by without celebrating. Now he's hoping to find a lovely Irish lass. He's all dressed up and ready to go to the local pub and toss back a few in honor of St. Patrick. We just hope the bartender doesn't know how to make a pina colada!
Love the top hat Kevin. I think you'll pull more than a few pints at the pub with that natty headgear.
Oh, do you think that birds are attracted to suntanned coconuts then, Eileen? I am going to change my strategy. Lets see then...my shopping list: Suntan oil, red lip gloss, stop shaving.........
Yeah....right Eileen. Mustn't forget that. Now I gots to wait for the next holiday. What's the next one? Easter??....urmmm, I think I'll pass on that headgear. But I'm not giving up. What goes around comes around a coconut would say, right? I'm on a roll and I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts...there they are a-standin' in a row.
Easter looms, and the hens are excited (egg-cited?) about a holiday that features eggs. Kevin didn't want to be left out, so he put on bunny ears and hopped into a basket. Happy Easter everyone!
