Rain/freezing rain last night left a thick coat of ice on everything. I lost most of my old Maple, which we think was about 300 years old :(

Thick layer of ice on everything. We are lucky we didn't lose our power.

Thankfully, I had my chainsaw sharpened this week, and we can use the firewood. But I would rather have kept my tree.

Ach--bad news Netty. Your dramatic piccies are quite special though. You have a good eye for taking pics. I can imagine that you could use a couple of them for greeting cards or something.

Netty, I'm so sorry you lost your maple--trees are so special.
The ice pictures reminded me once again why we are in Texas and not in upstate New York!

I really feel for you Netty. I have a favourite maple in my garden and I'd be devastated if I lost it. I just hope Mother Nature is going to be much kinder to you in the near future.

Yikes Netty. I also was glad to hear that you did not lose your power. Loosing that old tree was bad enough. On Weds. late afternoon it started to snow and blow here. It didn't stop until Thursday around 5:00pm. We had around 8" of wet heavy snow. So glad our power stayed on also. I think it was the same storm system blowing threw Wis. Several years ago I posted about a 30 ft. maple tree in our backyard that blew over during a storm. Glad you are safe and sound.
