There is a wonderful website that tells of all the uses for Hydrogen Peroxide. Especially for garden use. I did post it to other posts. But thought it deserved it's own posting. Here is the website; www.using-hydrogen-peroxide.com I used it on our sick peach trees with wonderful results. It is also good for around the home. What a wonderful and useful product. I will be needing to buy more this spring. When ever Spring really gets here.
I never realize it was so useful. I quickly read the article but am book-marking it so I read it again. It sounds like some things need a weaker strength and others stronger but no directions. Maybe I missed something.
Carolyn--wow that is great. I will definitely be using it a lot more in my gardens. 2ofus--they do have a mixing chart on their website. You'll have to look around for it. But it is there.
I found the article and printed it off. I think I'll stay with the 3% until I get the hang of it but I'm definitely going to try it.
I use HP when starting my seeds and on my seedlings. I think it really helps. It keeps away fungus knats and actual fungus in the soil too. I think it helps a lot with the dreaded damping off too.
This is great. Here's the specific gardening uses link: http://www.using-hydrogen-peroxide.com/peroxide-garden.html And here's the link for the mixing chart: http://www.using-hydrogen-peroxide.com/gardening-with-hydrogen-peroxide.html There are other links to follow too. But I thought these should be handy as a quick reference.
I wonder, if it combats "bad" fungus and bacteria in the seed starting mix (what I use it for), does it kill the good bacteria and fungus (extremely important to healthy soil) in the soil of your garden? I haven't read all the info from these websites, so maybe they cover that question? Honestly, that is what has kept me from using it in my garden so far. Anyone know the answer?
I just found this thread after posting in another one to get rid of mold on her flower pots. Many uses for HP. Great thread tooty.
Tactical-I think if you read the article it will answer your question. I am not sure. Ronni thank you for putting the links to the website pages. I am not that apt. at doing that. Licenter--Yup HP is so good for so many things. I love that it is all natural. Glad you liked the thread.
I have been battling my cuttings rotting and dying for the last year. I must have introduced it from cuttings I purchased last Winter. grrr! So, this week I have started spraying everything as I take my cuttings and popping them into the starting trays. They seem to be doing much better, so far, at least. I spray the leaves the stems and the cut with a 3% solution.
