Due to a variety of circumstances, I am now the temporary caretaker of one of Paige's cats. Paige has had Amelie since she was a 6 week old kitten. She's a sweet girl, if a bit clingy and needy. She hangs out in my room, and has formed an uneasy peace with the dogs. Her favorite thing to do is to sleep on my chest. As soon as I walk into the bedroom, she starts meeping at me (she doesn't ever do a full on meow, it's always just these little meep sounds) which in the language of cat apparently is "lie down on the bed so I can lie on your chest and bump your face with my face, and when I feel like it knead your neck with my sharp claws." <sigh> I'm not a huge cat person. I mean I like them, but I prefer dogs. This has been more of an adjustment for me than for Ami I think. Paige has observed and declared that Amelie is far happier in my room than she was when she hung out in the basement getting less attention. She's a shy cat so the combo of dogs and kids was just too much for her down there and she mostly hid under things. In my room she's a different cat. Meet Amelie.
Looks as though Ami has adopted you as her mum Ronni. Thank goodness she doesn't weigh much if she taken to sleeping on your chest!!
She is a pretty girl. I read that black cats have the biggest personalities in the cat world. I know my Gertie has a huge personality for such a small cat
Thanks guys. She's a sweetheart....an annoying sweetheart but still.... I guess I'm just going to have to learn to live with kitty litter underfoot and cat hair on stuff, huh?
I always knew a male cat is a 'tom' but I only discovered the other day a female cat is a 'queen'. Explains a LOT........
