I usually wait until July to take photos with all of my Lilies open but I thought my garden looked pretty good today so I thought I would share...we live on a 1/2 acre corner lot. I have flower gardens all around the house...I should say we have flower gardens because my husband helps me since he retired...

The ramp is for our Lab Miss Shadow, she is 12 years old and has problems going up and down steps. The tree that is in bloom is a Japanese Lilac and it is in its 3rd week of flowering... Isabella is the small Chihuahua in the photo.

Miss Shadow must really enjoy using that ramp Sherry. What a thoughtful thing to do for her now that she's getting older. As for your garden how I wish mine could look as neat, tidy and beautiful as yours. I love those large pots you have either side of your entrance. I can really appreciate their size when I see little Isabella beside them.

Thank you Eileen, Philip and Netty.....We have a ramp in the garage too so we can let them out both doors too...we had the small ramp that is in the garage now, in the back but she would get excited and almost fall off and we didn't want her breaking a leg or something. She has lost her hearing too and we have to go and get her when we take her outdoors...I feel bad for animals that have to go through the same as aging people. ..

The Japanese lilac gives off a great scent...it does get a little messy when the blooms fall apart but I think it is worth it with the great smell for 3 weeks.

    That Japanese Lilac looks terrific.
Did Bob prune the lower branches for you when he was still around?;)

Gorgeous gardens. I love those tall pots too, and the ones by your garage as well. Are those hostas under the tree? They're HUGE!!

What a beautiful front flower bed and the back bed is just as pretty! The pots are great and I just wish you could post the smell of your lilac. It is so pretty. The ramps for Miss Shadow is great and shows how much you care.

Was the Japanese Lilac with the yard when you purchased the property? Or did you plant the lilac?

That was our back door and yes we planted the Japanese Lilac... we moved to the lake last September and someone else will be enjoying our backyard and all of the trees. We love the lake and watching all of the sunrises, something that we never got to enjoy. We were at this home for 12 years and we planted everything on the property...it was a show case house and it had mustard growing about 3 feet tall. We had them take it out and plant some grass. I left a lot of money sitting there, I am hoping the people that bought the home from California don't pull everything out. I did bring pieces of quite a few daylilies before we put it up for sale, and I am in the process of moving them to their forever home...
