Lol Carolyn,..i will accept an ohh and ahh anytime,..it keeps me posting,..this is the 21st of June and i am posting pictures taken from 12th of June,..i have a lot of catching up to do as the garden has changed for the better. Rose (Rosa Reine des Violettes),..Hybrid Perpetual has an intensely sweet fragrance,..a rich purple bloom that fades to Lilac. Rose (Rosa Ice Cream),..additional cultivar info-aka KORzuri,..'Memoire' or Memory. Resistant to Blackspot. Resistant to Mildew. Resistant to Rust. Bred in Germany. Below the rose from a cutting taken last season. Clematis Dorothy Walton. General View.
June 23rd 2016. Eileen you and Ian would be most welcome,..at this time of year its ideal to visit in fact i have had two visitors this week,..lol that's a lot seeing most times i get none. Cranesbill Geranium. Rose No ID. Rose No ID. Lavatera (Baby Barnsley)......................Its a Tree Mallow.
I don't think I've ever seen a white Lavatera before Philip. It's far more attractive than the pink ones seen over here.
June 24th 2016. Eileen,..Its the colour in the middle of the white that makes it attractive,..now its just beginning to bloom,..i have only come across the pink Lavatera once around where i live,..they are easy enough to grow from cuttings. Rose (Rosa 'Korresia') Clematis 'Dorothy Walton'. Rose (Rosa 'Sunsprite') Hollyhocks started to bloom today,..however its not my usual Hollyhock seeds these came from,..a friend sent me seeds from New Zealand,..the leaf is different in shape and the plants are now at 7 Ft where as my usual ones are only at 3 Ft,..as for the blooms,..just about open so give it another day.
Beautiful flowers Philip! The shots of the swan &babies are great too! They are so graceful. My husband & I were in Ireland last fall & saw the fuchias growing wild in the hedgerows. Incredible.
Ah you were here and i didn't know it,..we had lots of rain about then,.. i hope it wasn't too bad for your visit,..where did you travel to?. Big change in the blooms this past week as the Delphiniums show blooms and everything else is competing for height. Coleus from cuttings last season.
I don't think I have ever so many beautiful roses! All of your gardens seem so full and sooo colorful! Roses don't do well here so I'm really enjoying your pictures!
Thank you, We had so much rain from October to February the ground was well watered,..then from March 25th the temperatures were up to 33C-94F,..that was in my garden,..the lowest was 13C-58F,..a perfect balance for promoting blooms.
Delighted you are enjoying the Roses,..i am sure there is a Rose to suit your area and climate,..they do grow in very cold areas,..very hot areas and some in semi shade,..Roses are top of my list in the garden so i try growing new ones from cuttings every year,..most i give away if i am not pleased with the bloom,..what i want is a change from the parent plant and it does happen for me from time to time.
This Rose has just started to bloom and while i like the color its a very hard color to capture on camera,..like some reds are. Rose (Rosa 'Fond Memories') Lobelia erinus 'Kristallpalast'---------------------Trailing,..protected from Cats making a bed of it. One of my oldest Roses,..its a NoID,..i like it because it has a streak of white in it,..i have dug it up three times to relocate it. Two No ID Roses.
