How did you choose your username?

I can see there hasn't been answer on this Thread for a long time - but - I picked my username to reflect where I live - on an island and cause I live on an island I'm living the life of being surrounded by water (not that it is at all onerous it is actually quite lovely)

 

I thank you for your comment. Welcome to the group. I have enjoyed Garden Stew, just don't put much time in on it anymore.
I chose a photo of my son's and thought of it as representing the global garden that the good Lord has given us. That led me so simply to the fact that I am but just one Lil Bug ,somewhere lost in the whole of it.
I'm off to view your garden now,and look at your pictures.

If your building your own bonsai, often you vigorously top prune. or Coppice the stump.

 

I tend not to use my real name on forums. On another forum that I visit I am known as 'Grandad' due to my advancing years. For Garden Stew I chose to use an anagram of Grandad. (I only have a couple left for other forums )

I probably shared my reason ages ago.
I was a sort of new gardener / growing, and at times, gardening can be a pain / thus, Growingpains.

 

I go into a trance when i see a hummingbird....it's like nothing else exists and i just sit or stand there like there is nothing else that i could be doing...bumming around. Hence the name, hummerbum. I even have a tattoo of a hummer in a flower!!
