Hi Sjoerd. Not wishing to take over MG's thread on their first red fox, I thought this might amuse you. It is the same vixen about a year earlier with some of her facial expressions. She is a lovely fox and we have her complete confidence. We have been urban fox watching for 20 or 30 years and the old railway embankment is a haven for at least 2 or 3 pairs. They even walk down the street looking for anything to scavenge. :)

Boy, oh boy Rad---these are really good.
Thanks for the thread although I am sure that all the members will completely enjoy them as well.
We have seen a number of BBC films about urban foxes. It seems such a strange phenomenon, but of course with the encroachment of the building of dwellings and businesses it is perhaps no wonder. They have to live and eat somewhere don't they.

At any rate thanks again for the lovely foto's and commentary.

We are going to a matinee this afternoon called, "I, Daniel Blake". Have you seen it? I am going to see it with a certain degree of apprehension. Even though I know that is fiction, we know one family over there who has experienced a similar situation for real.

@ Sjoerd. I have not seen "I, Daniel Blake", we are not really movie goers, we just wait until films appear on TV. I did read the synopsis though and it does sound interesting and current about some failings in our health service. Did you enjoy the film?

I think foxes are beautiful creatures. I actually got to see 2 foxes this year, first time Ive ever seen one in the "wild"! One ran across the road as I was driving to work one day, and another ran in front of my car (I saw it in time to slow down) on the other side of town. The 2nd one was quite mangy looking, and I read on Facebook a few weeks later that animal control had caught it, because apparently it was ill. Im not quite sure I remember what they did with it.

Rad--I enjoyed the film, but it was disturbing to see how wrong things went for the bloke and the girl. However, it is billed as fiction...still...disturbing.
The film is not mainline, but it did win a prize at Cannes.
Socially interesting film that makes one think.

@Raddang - your Momma Fox definitely is a character and is also more than beautiful.

Wonderful pictures, and post! I hope we have a pair--only the male spotted so far.

Say Jane...how goes the wild camera search?
Has your man focused-in on a particular model?

Sjoerd, the camera came yesterday, and my husband set it up. We got a blurry photo of a fox last night! He is going to adjust pixels and the time/date, and we'll see if we get a better photo of Brer fox this evening.
The camera is a Stealthcam (Stealth being the manufacturer) model STC-P12SFX. I leave the technical stuff to my husband--I just garden and cook!
