Nice forum - recently moved into first place. Wanting a minimalistic, clean line style design.

Brown wooden flooring was already in property, have installed white blinds and painted walls white for a crisp look.

Wanting a leather sofa with clean lines, but not sure whether to get dark brown or black. What would look best?

Might change the radiator too. Any other ideas?

will post up pics of final room.

    thanks

The sofa color may depend on the artwork you hang on the wall. 8)

First of all welcome to the community cygnus :)

I agree with Bethie, the colour may ultimately depend on other items in the room. But if you are just going by the colours there at the moment my personal choice would be the dark brown. I suppose it depends on whether you want the eye to focus on the sofa in that case choose black.

Let us know what other colours may go in to the room and we'll see what other opinions we can add. Best of luck!

    Hello Cygnus,

Firstly let me WELCOME you to our forums. It's great to have you here. :D

Gosh you have been busy already and your living room is certainly looking good!! :-D

I think the dark brown would look best for your sofa too as black would be a bit harsh. I love the piccie you're thinking of having in your and cushions on the sofa that had the same colour tones in them would look lovely!!

    also like this

but it's a bit pricey and probably too large to hang over sofa (adds a sense of heigh, but might be too busy).

thanks for the sofa comments. I will post back when the room is finished or if i need any more advice.

I'd also put in a vote for the dark brown, and then you can tie in whatever artwork with one or two items (pillows, a vase, whatever) that echo the dominent of the art.

    Welcome!

Definately go with the first piccie - the second one just wouldn't make the same impact in the room at all. :(

I would definately go with the Dark Brown and the first wall hanging. Are you going to have a coffee table in there at all because I think that would be a nice touch.

I love the second picture. Going to speak to Martin about it when he gets home-it's just what we're looking for! Would definitely go for dark brown with the second picture. Have you considered a radiator cover-that could look really good?

I would also go with a dark brown sofa and the first picture.

Stretch out on the couch and see how comfortable it is for those Sunday afternoon naps. That's the important part. The color is secondary.
