First day of spring, first hummingbird

We saw our first hummingbird of the season on the first day of spring. It was casually sipping at the salvia greggii near the patio. Hope this is a sign of a good spring to come!
Hummingbirds make me happy !

 

I like them too, Jane. Too bad that they do not come here.
It has to be a good sign, doesn't it?

 

We have the Anna's but the rufous should be here any day now.

 

Its more like monsoon days here...

Ooohhh, you are so lucky! I can't wait until the Hummingbirds come back!!
They are such amazing little creatures.

 

I am patiently waiting for the ruby throated hummingbirds here...always close to when the orioles come. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will have the hummingbirds and orioles at the lake...our home should be finished in early September for sure...
