Oh my I'm trying hard not to turn pea green with envy Carolyn - and failing. Who needs to see neighbours when you have a view of those gorgeous tunnels?
aww... you are so right. I wish I could have bought the plots across the road from us when they went up for sale but the prices were phenomenal...way out of our range. It is amazing how quick you can adjust to the view, too... I already have moved a good portion of my hanging baskets to inside of there because it was forecasted to storm today... a lot of work and it never stormed. sigh. we finally FINALLY got the rest of the garden cleaned up and all tilled and ready to lay plastic and plant starting tomorrow.
Good luck for tomorrow and I hope the storm doesn't arrive to keep you from laying the plastic and beginning to plant up.
Carolyn,..what a sight to see,..its like the Botanical Gardens greenhouses,..they do look great,..plus you can't see the neighbor's ,..with all the plants inside there you are going to have your hands very full. Here's hoping the storm doesn't pass your way

Carolyn, your energy and ability continue to amaze! I love your hoop houses (envy here, too) and know they will be of great use. They also give a nice view! The farmer across the road from us is a "junker" in that he has stuff sitting around fields, rusting away and creating eyesores. I won't tell you the word another neighbor used in describing that place!
Thanks Jane but I have to confess at times I feel like "that farmer"...now it is pretty cleaned up but the stacks of tomato cages... ha! they are still there but I am not needing to keep 200 of them now. I will be stringing 50 in the greenhouse and caging 50. then I will have my paste tomatoes outside... oh so maybe forget that I will still need a quite a few.
S, it was a lot of work and the men did a great job getting it up. today we laid more plastic inside of it and I will start planting cucumbers and zucchini's in the big one too. I also put most of my hanging baskets in there and the greenhouse tomatoes.... there are about 100 of them. 50 for cages and 50 for stringing. Thanks KK Netty... like I said to Jane... sometimes I feel like "that farmer". today I don't. we laid plastic in the front and I am ready to plant. now... to keep ahead of the weeds at the edges and in between the rows that don't have ground cover. I would love to figure out how to cover crop between the rows but I am not sure just what to plant to keep the weeds down and not get too tall, otherwise I will be mowing between the rows. not much time for that nor do I have a mower that narrow.... maybe if I was better organized.
thank you Tooty... it is a lot of w.o.r.k. looks great but a lot of work. we are still catching up from last years fire too. soo many things went undone last year or went as minimal as possible. tonight we were cleaning out the barn-shed for the first time since last year. ugh. anybody who needs a working vacation should stop for a week or two. hopefully though this year with the new high tunnel and high tunnel crops more can be grown in the same space with the same or less effort.
