I'll have a look around here for some Nora Barlow seeds. Even if they don't cross with the ones I have they'll still look good planted with the others.
Eileen i must have a look to see do i have some,..if i didn't give all mine away i will send some to you,..the fact that you know the shape of a Nora Barlow,.. you can see it and any plant that has being cross pollinated from it,..every year i look forward to seeing new blooms appearing from Aquilegia. Aquilegia. Armeria maritima 'Armada Rose',..not a very clear shot. Hosta fortunei aureomarginata.
Another Hosta with very large leaves,..sadly i don't know its name. Dahlia 'Scarlet/Yellow',..Dahlia x Hybridia. Primula veris 'Cowslip'. Aquilegia 'Columbine'.
Your garden just gets better and better Philip!! That dahlia really jumps off my screen - what a wonderful colour!!
Thank you Carolyn,..you must know my garden from memory by now,..you will recall i was growing 'Sedum' in a pot on top of a three foot high Cat Cage,..hoping it would cascade down to meet the 'Alyssum' which is growing up to meet it,..this year i think they will meet lol. =================================================================================== Thank you Robin H,..welcome to the Forum. Heuchera alongside Geranium 'Cranesbill',..also the last plant to show signs of life in my garden,..Hibiscus 'Woodbridge'. =================================================================================== Thank you Eileen,..there are signs of Summer blooms showing each day with all the hot weather we are having,..23C-72F in the garden today. Yes that Dahlia is a little beauty,..it was given as a present along with a Wallflower,..the latter i have to find a name. Progress on the Chilean Lantern Tree today. The last bloom on the Amaryllis 'Minerva'.
I doubt that Phillip. Every flower is a new one. Never seen before. Do you still have that awesome tall vase planter?
ah see you do remember some things lol,..yep still have the very tall planters,..i have two of them,..one empty just now waiting to plant a new wallflower in it,..the other is hidden with a wallflower cascading down around it,..below,..this is the side facing the sun. This is the other side away from the sun,..some change. Amazing the changes taking place in a garden overnight,..Roses in bloom today. Rose ' Rosa Korresia '. A No ID Rose. Allium.
Eileen,..its the rose with the strongest scent,..i have often taken cuttings but its the only bush that i have failed with,..i took some of late hoping one day i will win. Zantedeschia aethiopica 'Arum Lily',..bloomed today. Aquilegia. Traces of Nora Barlow.
I sooo want to see your garden in real life Philip. It must be absolutely glorious at this time of year.
Hi Carolyn,..i never heard of that method but i will surely have a go at it,..thanks for that idea ================================================ Hi Eileen,..its interesting just now with everything reaching for the sky,..in particular the Delphiniums,..Hollyhocks,..Foxgloves and Dark Mullein,..paths can fill in with branches very quickly,..mostly it matters not,..unless its a thorny rose bush,..or like today and yesterday,.. RAIN,.. at last,..no point in walking through the garden today,..i hate water dripping from overhead branches down the back of my neck,..,..not a drop for weeks yipee,..the hose can take a rest.
We got rain today and very welcome it was too. It's been quite a while since we last had a really decent downpour. We got just enough to save us having to water the garden again over the next few days.
