Mart, White Feather is a Hosta. It comes up white, but will slowly change to all green. It's a very temperamental Hosta, and I moved it 3 times before I found a spot it loved.

 

Your gardens are so beautiful! I think I'm drooling a bit over the colors and plants and especially the way you have designed your flower beds and the plants you've chose. I really wish I could take a stroll though your gardens.

I saved this Yarrow off the "last chance" rack last summer ... it was just a stick

I saved this Weiglea from the same rack. I didn't think it would survive

A storm rolled behind us as I was weeding the Hostas. I liked the way the dark clouds made the 'Ivory Silk' Lilacs blooms stand out

The storm has almost reached us and it's starting to rain ... time to go inside. For now.

 

Netty, I can't tell you how much I am enjoying this series of foto's on the thread. What a good idea and what a lovely garden and flowers you have. So impressive.
That view of your yard and furniture looks so inviting. Life is good....after the storm, eh?

 

Thanks Sjoerd. I am so happy that the garden is doing well this year. But as I expected, with the change in the calendar comes a change in the weather patterns. We haven't had any rain yet in July.

 

Good grief ! We had a long dry spell, but now it is raining every day.
I hope that the rest of the season will be good for you.

 

Your garden is a true paradise. You'd never guess it had struggled through last years drought. My poor garden is suffering from neglect and will take me a long time to conquer even a quarter of the weeds. Wish I could enjoy a garden tour the next time you open your garden. The photos are such eye candy but I'm sure they don't hold a candle to the real thing. What a wonderful talent you have.

 

Well, we had no rain for the first 13 days of July. Then this happened:

There was probably about an acre of water after a few hours of rain one night. The basement was wet too and all the rain barrels were overflowing. The lawn is still draining 3 days later! The gardens are happy again though!

I didn't think I would see any Lavetera blooms this year. They seem to be a bunny favourite, but I guess they missed one

beautiful, Netty. same here... no rain and then day after day of it! hopefully it becomes a little more moderate now.

 

I only ever saw orange daylilies before coming on gardenstew. I never new that they came in all these different colours. I want to get some different colours now.

We had torrential rains all spring making it impossible to be in the garden. Miss the misty days of previous years. You certainly got a deluge when you finally got rain. We need some moisture here since we've had no rain since the beginning of June.

After all the difficulties getting my beans going this year, I have FINALLY picked the first few beans! These are 'Provider', a bean I wanted to try and finally found seeds for.

The 'Sugar Snap' peas are finally ready too!


The black currents are ready, and today I will go pick them clean. Not really sure what to do with them though ... I still have lots of jelly from last year. Ideas?

Bought this tricolor Scaevola hanging basket from a school fundraiser this spring. I really like how it has turned out!
