Both chairs were from a thrift shop .... in good condition and cost $40 & $15. Come to think of it most of the overstuffed chairs in my home are from thrift shops... I am rather frugal.
Sjoerd, our home suits us as yours will suit you too with just a little time. We could never imagine moving. Here the prices of homes and rent has skyrocketed and apartments are snapped up almost before completion of the building project. I feel sorry for young people with such a housing shortage. Though our home is small it is a single story and the garden is large. We are here to stay as I predicted when we first arrived. Jewell, I too frequent Thrift shops. Another source of bits of furniture in past years was Trash day. People toss out perfectly good items which can be cleaned and made into useful pieces.
Thanks Jewell. It was a smart move getting a home with only one floor. Just imagine that when you become old and infirm...you will not have to dread climbing stairs. It all sounds just right.
