    Your rose (Rosa 'Handel') is just the type of rose I'd have in my garden. They attract so many bees and butterflies. With their open flowers the nectar can be easily collected and they look beautiful into the bargain.

    Such lovely blooms Philip. :) My salvia is attracting the bees but, sadly, still no butterflies even although I usually see Red Admirals, Peacocks and Tortoiseshells at this time of year.

    Thanks Eileen,..strange about the butterflies being scarce for you as well,..i was putting it down to so many wild flowers in meadows attracting them away from the gardens,..could be climate change,..the latter wording is banned in the USA,..not to be used when mentioning weather,..it must now be 'Down To Adverse Weather Conditions',..as stated on Fox News/CNN/CNBC,..this came from the Funny House :).

    Rose (Rosa 'Ice Cream)..lots of them blooming now..this is the second wave.

    Philip, I noticed your picture of the 'wild' Malva Sylvestris and knew that at one time I had one. Finally remembered that I ordered it about 20 years ago. I loved it! The flower and foliage was so pretty. However within a 2 years it had seeded everywhere. It took me another two years to get rid of it. :(

    Hi 2ofus,..ah yes those two pictures came from Odif,..who lives in the Pyrenees,..he was telling me he had the wild version of my Malva muscata,..i had never come across the wild species so it was very interesting to see how pretty the bloom and foliage is in comparison to the garden version,..oh boy so it took you two years to eliminate it from your garden,..i better not get it for mine,..the garden version has only produced one plant from self seeding in my garden over the years so i have had to take cuttings to start another lot elsewhere in my garden,..i am told that i should be happy with this as the plant can self seed all over.

    ====================================================================================

    Hibiscus 'Woodbridge',..i keep in a container just outside my back door,..it should be big and strong enough to be planted in the garden,..soon.

    My apology , Odif, for confusing your photo of the wild Malva as Philip's. It is a beautiful flower.
