Your Heucherella 'Sweet Tea' has certainly sprung back to life and is looking good Philip. I have nothing in flower now as the frosts have hit us hard this last week. Your garden looks more like spring at the moment what with your Arisaema sprouting and your clematis in flower.
I am really pleased to have saved the Heucherella,..i hate having any plant die on me through my neglect,..i had failed to realize that Heuchera tend to raise out of the soil in colder weather,..by the time i discovered this the plant was surely on its way out. Sorry to find the frost has hit you hard,..touch wood it keeps away from my garden for a spell longer.

Autumn and Winter is the time my 'Mahonia japonica',..comes into bloom. Below is the Rose ( Rosa 'Handel' ) It can produce blooms later in the season which are a tad more whiter but the blush is still there,..only yesterday i noticed it has produced a complete white bloom,..as below. Different not only in colour but also in shape,..as long as i have had this rose bush this is the first time this white bloom has appeared,..there are two stems coming from the base,..the one with the white bloom is the first time this stem has produced a bloom,..this could well have started as a sucker which escaped me,..so i am thinking that this white bloom might be the original rose from which the named rose bush was rooted from,..just a thought
Eileen its a nice one indeed,..i checked this morning and there are more buds on the stem,..i could well be completely off track with my thinking that this bloom is the result of the stem coming from the grafted root of the original rose,..which in Europe would be,.. Rose ( Rosa 'Laxa' ) this is a white rose,..nearly all roses sold this side of the pond are grafted from this rose root,..in America its the rose,..Rose ( Rosa ' Dr Huey ' ),..which is a red rose. I cut back my Delphiniums,..after they had completely finished blooming,..then when the new growth started i took some cuttings which are now fully rooted and will survive the winter,..however had i cut them back earlier i would have blooms just now,..they are just about to bloom now but i doubt if they will do so before the frost,..they are trying. Frost has not touched the display of Begonia mixed with Lobelia,.. at a friends house. Since early Summer i have looked after the plants seen below,..started from seeds,..i was told they were 'Tiger Flowers',..not 'Tigridia pavonia',.. and not 'Tiger Lily',..they look to me to be ' Helleborus ',..there is a bud coming along and hopefully i can identify these plants if it blooms,..touch wood.
Now i am becoming more convinced,..i feel you are right ,..i was sent the seeds when they were just about sprouting wee shoots,..kept them in the cooler until they were big enough to go out into the greenhouse,..so either i was sent the wrong seeds,..or they died and some hellebores grew,..which is even more confusing as the soil was never used before,..plus i kept an eye on the seedlings,..oh well,..the bloom will tell if it opens,..the leaves sure look like hellebores . My big arum Lily is still growing despite the season,..it should be even bigger next year. New growth on the heuchera cuttings,..they all took root.
Philip, gardening can be such a mystery sometimes. BTW, those seedlings sure do look healthy, whatever they are.
Lol,..Cayuga Morning,..what ever they are ,..the buds have not opened as yet,..i am sure they are hellebores as i examine the leaf,..as you say gardening can be such a mystery,..its not the season at all for hellebores to be blooming either,..its spring blooming here and here we are into winter,..one would not think so as its warm today it was 16C-60F which is typical for April and May. Sedum 'Dragons Blood',..well protected against the cold weather when it arrives,..moss grows very quick here. I have a few 'Hebe' plants/shrubs and as there is very little blooms just now the Hebe purple on the leaves really start to show.
That's it I'm moving to Ireland!! We're still having hard frosts and nothing is putting on a show like yours.
Lol Eileen,..granted its warmer here but we do get lots of rain and heavy wetting mists,..the latter puts most people off. Those 'Hebe' are all from cuttings only about 3 inches long,..slow to grow into bigger plants but impressive in colour to have at this time of year. I decided to overwinter the bulk of my Sempervivum tectorum 'Hens and Chicks',..in the greenhouse just in case we get a very cold winter,..seasons are no longer depended upon to be as expected. The main stock. The remainder,..though i suppose nearly as much as the main stock.
I can put up with the rain Philip as we get plenty of that here too. Just to be able to see something that looks alive at this time of year would be nice. Those sedum should do well for you overwintering in the greenhouse. I leave my out all year as they're in the front garden and, so far, appear to be doing OK.
Eileen,..like you i always left mine outside and no problem,..for some unknown reason i took a fad this year and housed the bulk of them inside. A big change in temperature from last night,..down to -1,..its a long time since it went that low plus there are areas in the next county flooded,..houses and roads,.. where a river burst its banks,..England also has areas flooded. Really pleased to see my single Iris has multiplied,..lets hope it remains with four shoots. How it bloomed in May.
