let me know how that galina's yellow is. I have never grown it... I don't like the name. isn't that funny. I haven't ordered it because I don't like the name. stupid.
Update: 3/4/18 Trying different techniques..i added kelp to the hydro one. (Wish me luck) I have the smaller ones (as you saw) in hydro. I still have a few to put in soil. Checked out the Patio Mater this eve when I came home...leaves are curling...giving it a few days.
I haven't read all the replies but if you have leggy tomatoes just plant them that much deeper when you plant outside. They'll love it.
3/12/18 Update from last week 3/9/18:Boy have they've grown. Check out the roots in that jar. Going to cover it very soon. I added kelp to my solution. So far, they seem to love it.
Good that you added kelp to your solution. That is a very good feeder. I used to go to the ocean and gather seaweed when a severe storm would wash them up. I just dumped it onto the garden like manure. The plants love it. I think that I posted a piece on here. Anyhow--your plants are looking superb. Amazing roots.
Funny that you mention the seaweed...im at work and I listen to YouTube vids most of the day to keep me calm and just listened to a video a few mins ago, of a person in New Zealand who uses seaweed for his mulch. The maker of "Hungry bins", worm composter.
I would have re-potted them by the time they reach this height. I usually re-pot a couple of times before they go into the ground. I also trim off the lower branches.
Heck Growingpains, I just did 2 weeks ago....our last frost date was yesterday. But I'm going to wait, I hope for another two weeks, but those babies are bursting at the seams in my room. Probably will have to move some into the dining area (that we don't use..lol)if I end up re-potting them again before they go out. Now i could pot them up in the containers that they will be going in and keep them inside. More ingenuity with pvc pipe....lol. That way I will have that extra room for the lettuces that have sprouted.....geezzzzzz.
LOL HUmmerbum, I need to go back and learn more about your PVC pipe-dreams! Seriously, that sounds very interesting. Your tomato plants look very healthy.
Thanks Daeze, I appreciate it! LMBO...Growingpains!!! Thank God for my Dad, the plumber!!! Thank you. I'm trying to keep them that way...they have outgrown the area and their containers (as you can see) and really need to be moved outdoors in about a week.
Growingpains....and now the grownup version!!! The tall one on the left is Early Girl.
