We found this wet bedraggled puppy this morning, so for now we took him in. He is cute, I hope we can't find the owner. He has just been sleeping for the last hour. He managed to wake up for the photo.
Aww isn't he sweet? He looks very young to have been out on his own. Do let us know if the owners turn up or if you decide to keep him yourself.
Odif... sometimes our pets find us when we aren't even looking for them. I have a cat and a dog that came here without me even knowing we needed them. maybe don't look for the "owner" either. you may be it now.
I am not sure if we can keep the puppy. I have asked around but no one has lost a puppy. Often people abandon their dogs here. I think because we live on the border. The problem I have with a dog is that the goat farmer has shot them before. My last dog I had to give away because of threats. Some of my friends have problems with their dogs. They are always running away and hunting in packs.
If you decide not to keep the pup yourself what will you do with it? Do you have pet rescues that could rehome it for you?
The puppy has been named Tintin. He has got a home now with some friends. I have a garden there, so I will see him all the time. He is going to be a big dog. He has huge paws and he is still so young.
I'm so pleased to hear that the pup has a new home and a new name. Do try to send us some photographs of him as he grows.
train it if you like the dog. its cute, but if it isn't your interest to keep it and train it its best to find it another home.... otherwise watch some dog training videos. tie it to your leg all day long. make it stay with you. train it to the edge of your property if you can. do you have wireless training collars there? they train it to stay within boundaries of an area by giving it a warning sound and then a shock if they keep going. for some dogs it doesn't work others are very trainable. we had one who would see a cat and he was through the "fence" in a heartbeat. but he wouldn't come back through after the "hunt/chase" was done.
Tin tin will be just fine. I will just train him to stay out of my garden and simple tasks like sit and dig where I want him to but nowhere else. He will be living in a fenced off property. He has got a good home.
