I planted more seeds indoors: arugula, rainbow kale, lupins, gallardia, etc. Also 2 large dahlia bulbs. I have more to plant, but I have run out of potting soil!

On another note, I have closed one of my professional offices in gradual preparation for retirement & my husband surprised me with this:

The card reads: "Congrats on your half retirement". And, we went out to dinner to celebrate!

Odif, good work. I shall take a spade and turn my beds. Oh the labor intensive garden.

    Cayuga, congratulations on 1/2 retirement!

Cut yet more asparagus today--we have never had this much asparagus! I wish I knew why it's so prolific so I could replicate the conditions for next year.
I'd like to do some weeding, but since we had so much rain two days ago, the ground is still very soggy and I don't want to get into the gardens and compact the soil (that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it).

Clematis plants removed and a beginning on the flower beds.
That little diagram that I posted a couple of days ago was pulled out and the Bride and I discussed the possibilities in the veggie plots.

Congrats to you Cayu. Nice flowers.

Sounds like the perfect excuse to me, Marlin.
I keep checking for Asparagus, but not a stem showing yet.

Sjoerd, good work. Your flowers will be as awesome as your veggies.

Today I planted 8 hills of yellow potatoes.

Still raining in Essex, I have never known such a wet start to spring. Roads are flooded, farmers fields resemble lakes, goodness knows when they will be able to get their tractors out, I think they need boats! Anyhow, being constantly housebound because of the weather, I am still sowing seeds, pricking them out, potting them on....my greenhouses are full to the brim, as is the conservatory. If the sun ever shines, it is going to take me days to plant everything out!

E J, when we need rain, it seems to never come.
When it does rain, it seems it won't stop.
Raised beds may be the solution.

Pricked the toms and paprika's out and planted them in larger pots.
The broadies are becoming gangly. If I can't get them in the ground soon, I may well need to stake them.
The little pansey's out on the balcony are tardy but cheerful. It remains very cold and wet here.

Look at those tomatoes!!! Are those from this year already? I'm so jealous of the weather in parts of Cali...man they can grow tomatoes year round. They look absolutely wonderful. I love Cherokee Purple and Black Krim!!

I had in mind to set out onions today. Too cold. At least the Crocus flowers are as lovely as an Easter basket!

Not saying I "Like" the snow, Carolyn. I also forget what area you live in.

I have tiny lettuce bravely peeking out of the egg carton planters and they will need transplanting soon. I wish the ground to be warm enough for them. They're tender and shouldn't be handled over much.
