What have you done today in the Garden?

Those are from last year

 

After 4 days of motoculter, this morning I woke up with excruciating back pain and a foul mood because of the pain. I managed to lurch into the garden and do the essential tasks. This afternoon feeling a bit better, so I made lots of weeding and transplanting some lettuces.

 

WE are going to freeze tonight ,had to move plants and cover what we could.

nothing and I mean NOTHING going on in the gardens here. it is freezing almost every night. no flowers to be seen no leaves have popped out yet. it is bitter for the 4th of April here. (oh I take that back... kevin did get a row of peas planted last week when we had a nice day)

 

I cannot "like" because of freezing temps.
Odif, I hope you have worked through the pain.
Nothing going on in this garden. Wind gusts too strong and too cold.

well, at least it wan't 20° last night it was 27°f. sheesh! so tired of it.

 

Yesterday morning my back was sore again and my movement still restricted. This didn't stop me from doing what I had to do. I planted 2 rows of early potatoes. Suddenly in the afternoon, I realized I had all my movement. My back seems to have righted itself. I planted carrots and radishes. Spring has really arrived. We had 20 Celsius.

 

yep, Odif... keep working through the pain unless you cant even move, but keeping upright and moving is the best cure it seems for a hurting back. glad you are feeling better. unfortunately it is still winter here.

 

Planted a block of sweet corn, decided the rest of the garden can go to more squash, cucumbers, and beans. Those are always welcome at the food pantry.
I cut two rose bouquets for the house, since tomorrow is to be windy, wet, and cold and I won't get to enjoy the roses on the bush.

 

Since today was windy and cold I went to Lowes and purchased bags of topsoil for future garden chores.

 

Well, that sure is a Rose tree and the story is good too.
Odif, so glad your back is better.

 

Thank you everyone for your support. I did nothing in the garden, not because of back pain which is completely gone, but because of the rain all day yesterday. Today looks clear so I can plant.

 

My husband and I cleaned up our yard yesterday. We had a second all-day bonfire, so much to burn up!

I do wonder about the ecology of this: which is better for the environment, an all day burn or renting a gas chipper & running that most of the day? We had a lot of trees down in our yard & woods. The three storms we had in March were tough.

My potatoes arrived on Sat. I plan to chit them today. My seedlings are out growing their containers, I plan to transplant them today.
