Yep, I've been decking the halls ~ [IMG] ~ so to speak.

Actually, our house doesn't have any halls big enough to deck . . . but you know what I mean.

Our scrawny little Charlie Brown tree is finally up.
It has ivy twining up the trunk [IMG]
instead of tinsel garland, and Spanish moss draped in it's branches rather than icicles.

It's festooned with cranberry beads and there's a peacock perched on top.

Beneath it are a few forest creatures,
including a naughty little bear, [IMG]

who may get a sting on the nose for disturbing those bees.

There are lots of birds nesting in our tree
    [IMG] [IMG]

    [IMG] [IMG]

even a pair of tiny hummingbirds. [IMG]

This little beaded spider, was a gift from an internet friend last year.
It came complete with a wonderful story, [IMG]
I'd never heard the legend of the Christmas spider before.
It's so very sweet, and I had every intention of making some of these to give as gifts this year,
but never got it done . . . oh well, maybe next year.

    Just a couple more and then I'll quit :D ................. I promise.

    [IMG] [IMG]

Tomorrow we're going into town to go shopping . . . it's gonna be a looong day.

This is *so* much fun - the birds and bears and bees, you make my own "just ornaments" one seem very humdrum by comparison. Thank you for the pics. :)

Zuzu, I have a tree like that too. Mine is only 4 feet tall, I love the "folk art" look of it.
It has multicolored lights and is covered with fruits and vegies, some holly and poinsettia.

I really like the bee skep on yours and the birds, guess I will have to add some next year.

Thanks guys, glad you enjoyed seeing our wacky tree.

I see that G'Fan has already answered your requests for the Legend of the Christmas spider,
many thanks to her for that, too, I guess I thought I was the only one who'd never heard it.

Hubby and I have just returned from our shopping trip into town today, [IMG]

WOW Zuzu, that is a dandy set of decorations, with a peacock on top for good measure! Are those the snowmen that play a tune when you press them? The birds are just great, so many things to catch the eye.

Wonderful eye candy, thanks so much for thinking of us and posting your pics. The gnome is impressed.

Y'all are just too kind :D Thanks, again.
Jan! The photos of your decor looked WONDERFUL!
In fact, I've loved everyone's holiday photos, all the different styles are so much fun.
I'm particularly relieved regarding the gnome approval,
if Frank approves, the chances are that the local gnomes will too,
so I shouldn't need to worry about any pranks from them. :setf_050: *whew*

:D Yep, they sure are, they "sing" Frosty the Snowman.
Hubby and I have nearly worn them out. Simple minds, simple pleasures - eh?

I'll send out an APB to hold off on the gnome pranks for this year.

I have been trying to get your pics to the archives for a couple of days with no success. I shall give it another try later. But whether I get them there or not, I certainly have enjoyed looking at them.
