The day arrived. Fortunately fate smiled upon us: the hardware cloth, ground staples and zip ties all arrived in time; it was a sunny day; and our work crew of mainly 60+ year olds assembled as promised. We were truly fortunate. The fence around our community garden was in sore need of replacement. We had been repairing parts of it for years, wiring rusted gaps here, placing boards over holes there, wrestling with the rusted fence to get it to stand up..everywhere. And chasing chasing chasing bunnies from our patches endlessly. Finally this summer, complaints about our rusted out fence reached a crescendo: we were all convinced we had to DO SOMETHING about it. I spent parts of the summer researching replacement ideas: type of fencing, how tall, dug into the ground or just an 'L' shaped apron on top, etc. Then I spent part of the summer convincing others....you know what group decision making is like, right? So today was the day & we succeeded in (almost) completing the job!!! We have some small sections to finish next weekend. We are all VERY pleased with ourselves. Here are some photos: TA DAH!!!!!
From the looks on your faces you all really enjoyed yourselves. Isn't it nice when folks get together to make the work seem like fun? You all deserve a pat on the back for a job well done.
Oh I am pleased for you all and thanks for sharing the shots and seeing so many faces pleased with their achievements and it's nice when there's team work going on...job well done
Olé! Well done you (guys). I looked for you on the pics but did not see anyone wearing high heels. Chortle.
