Just moving our garden..uugghh lots of work..but I'm getting there,we usually plant fields with tractors, planters, tillers..this yr I'm downsizing a bit as hubby's job has him pretty going right now..its a good thing..just doing it now but I still love it..hard work but so rewarding. I did also get the thornless blackberries on another large trellis, well I used a long cattle panel that I arched.

Cut back Rubecca done some watering to waken plants up. An Acer stem I cut off landed in a pot lol and sprouted so I gave it a neighbour. Took cuttings of my Aubretta, it’s a lovely plant and in flower at the moment. Took out a Begonia that needed inspecting for slugs eye nothing on it so I put it down to rest it. Today it has buds...:smt026

Fed roses root enhancer. Tomorrow I hope to feed them.

Transplanted some tomato and bok choy seedings to 2x2 cells as they have developed the 1st set of true leaves. Have a few extras to donate to family members. Set my overwintered peppers outside as it is about 70° and overcast.

Soon my pepper seedlings will be ready to separate and transplant. The only seeds that haven't germinated yet are the Carolina Reapers, but they take the longest to do everything (germinate, mature, fruit and ripen).

Started the outside clean up after the sins of winter. I did the most obvious garden bed first...the one we pass by daily getting in & out of our cars. Looks much better.

I also put compost around all our clematis & many of our rhodies. I had to stop before I finished because the remaining compost was still frozen!

I hope to do a bit of clean up every day, weather permitting.

Not technically IN the garden, but my brother just bought me a flat of plants from his school's fundraiser. I am the proud papa of 6 habanero and sweet banana peppers, as well as 12 each of cherry tomatoes and spinach plants.

    That's a lot of veggies

Fertilized everything EXCEPT the garden. 200 lbs later I am done until September except for the here and there stuff.

Ever work so hard your hands tremble, yea that's when its time to quit. Just been away from the vines for so long running a buisness. They are very resilient, dispite the neglect. Quite impressive actually. I just adore early morning strolls thru the vines. Morning java stroll admiring the dew on the tightly curled buds always brings a smile to my soul. I love the vines.

While husband was putting up another metal trellis for the gourds I weeded the potatoes and took the soil temperature to see if it was warm enough for our tomatoes and peppers to go in. The soil is warm enough, but we have possibly severe thunderstorms coming on Saturday, so I'm holding off on the planting. I'd rather be late than sorry!
Cut more asparagus, and tomorrow is the first picking/thinning of leaf lettuces and turnips. There's a great salad in our near future!

I planted peas and transplanted strawberries. I had to climb a tree to cut the branches and I weeded a flower patch.

    Deana, these are grape vines?

I had a very productive day. Two days actually. The temps are finally warm enough here for yard work & some gardening. I have put compost on all my rhodies, azaleas & clematis vines. I have also begun the out door clean up. I do a little bit every day.

The last two days, I have been out at the community garden. I almost have the whole thing limed. I also have been spreading composted goat manure...I have done about half of the garden. Pretty tiring work. Today I got a row of peas in, a row of radishes and two rows of lettuce! I am feeling quite happy with myself.

@Cayuga Morning ..Wow, isn't it amazing how the determination just drives us beyond weariness. I know you are gonna be so proud and rewarded for all the exhausting toiling when you are watching all of it blooming so beautifully.
