This park is often part of my walks. Except for the trails this is an undeveloped park, although they keep adding so many new paths that on one rainy, cloudy day I got turned around and didn’t/couldn’t figure out how to leave the park the way I intended. Would you call this lost? I really enjoy traipsing through the area but with all the circling routes developed this last year it has become a magical labyrinth. It is nice having an area that isn’t mowed and with multiple sports fields. It’s like stepping back in time to the undeveloped areas in town we could play in as kids. Now huge housing developments spring up in areas like that. Mission Creek is a little piece of wildness still existing in the city.
That is truly lovely, and it is easy to see why you enjoy a stroll through the park. Please don't get "lost" in the park--we'd miss you terribly!
@Kildale I'm just north of you (mid-Island) and we've got tons of it with more on the way. Just saw BC Ferries cancelled all sailings today as of 3pm cause of the wind storm coming in. UGH! This is Day #3 that I haven't set foot outside other than to shovel.
Wow Kildale, that’s impressive. I’m glad they shut the ferries down. I’ve seen some pretty scary pictures of wind and waves engulfing a big ferry and the cars on board. So far we have had a mild winter. Our cold comes out of the north and so far the winds have been off the ocean. They dumped something like 8 feet in 3-4 days on Rainier. The temperatures on the south sound are above freezing now. Today was my last day of having to mall walk . ice is gone. Hang in there and hope your storm lets up. MG my request for Christmas was a compass.. If the paths go around in circles I need to know the direction I’m headed so I don’t have to escape the park through someone’s yard That would be embarrassing. Did find another trail along the creek though.
