Not done a great deal ion the garden over winter, but begun again now. This is what I have done today. The base. Side one. Side 2 Front Back. Had to stop there as the next part needs two people.
Today's work. Does not look much, but we had to do a lot of preparation work before putting up the sides and ends. The bottom and right hand side. The left hand side. The front. Next job is the roof!
Some more today, spoiled by the rain this afternoon though. The left side of the roof Both sides of the roof. Windows in the roof. The door. Again does not seem much, but fitting the Auto vent thing took ages. Not going to fit the other one we have, until I see if that one works. Glass and screwing the whole thing to the floor next.
No photos, but we have begun to put the glass in. I did manage to break one, toughened glass, exploded all over the place. Fortunately I found some PVC sheeting in the attic which I cut to size and fitted. Not done much today, it has rained all day.
Nothing again today. It was far too windy to be messing with huge panes of glass. Weather forecast is for strong winds until Wednesday, so an enforced rest. Wall paper stripping here we come.
Greenhouse as of today. Finished and glazed. Got one more bench to put together two lots of wooden slats to paint and 212 screws to put in and it is ready for use.
Spent much of the day finishing off the staging. One is supposed to nail the wooden battens down, but I was a bit worried about using a hammer in the greenhouse so I decided to screw them down. Only 212 screws to put in.
Harder than it should have been. No matter how we tried we could not get the roof glass to fit as it is supposed to do. It is about 1/4 of an inch too long and in any case once the cushioning material is in place, there is no way of getting the glass to slide under the lip which it is supposed to do. Fortunately I had some clips from a previous greenhouse which are designed to hold glass panes in place. Once the glass is fastened in it cannot move so not a problem, it just slowed the job considerably. Finished now. the staging is constructed and in place. Even got plants in there now!
Have been busy again. We are now removing the hedge at the top of the garden to replace it with a fence once this Virus malarkey is over. https://imgur.com/a/IFtRlkE
