Good Thursday morning all. Currently 10°C and sunny.
I foraged a good lot of asparagus on my dog walk this morning, and I am looking forward to eating them for dinner with a grilled steak.
I actually wrote a list of things I want to, and the list should take a couple of days to complete. We have good weather in the forecast so I should get it done by Saturday if I get started today. First I need to get my daughter to work and pick up some gas for the lawnmower!
Have a great day all :)

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 12°C and sunny. It's going to be a gorgeous day!
Yesterday, I got my peppers, zucchini, eggplant and the first row of tomatoes planted. Today I want to do the other 2 rows of tomatoes and the beans.
Then, if there is time, I hope to get a few flats of annuals planted in the back gardens before the rain tomorrow.
I hope theres enough daylight to get that all done!
Have a great day all :)

Uh, Hello? Hello? I'm just checking in on my Stewbies! Life has gotten so busy that I haven't been here in a long time. I recognize a few names though- So glad to see the Stew is alive and well :)

Hi Deanna  Nice to see you here again!
Good Monday morning all. Currently 10°C and overcast. We had rain overnight and I couldn't be happier!
I got the garden planted and also converted an old daylily bed to a hosta bed, and now it has all been watered in nicely.
There is some space left in the new Hosta bed and so I need to go plant shopping :smt041
Have a great day all :)

Glad to see you again, Stratsmom. You were missed!
We have rain, again, today. Yesterday was rainy, the day before ditto, and now we are having intermittent downpours. I'll bake and listen to some music and start building an ark!

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 15°C and clear. It's going to be a scorcher today! Just 2 weeks ago we had snow!
The garden centres are cleaned out. I've been to several only to find them all empty! They are unable to get more plants and people are buying everything in sight!
I think plant starts are the new toilet paper!!!
Off to work, not sure what I'll be able to plant though!
Have a great day all :)

"What is this life if full of care, we have no time to stand and stare."
At the top of the lane where I walk most mornings as I came round the bend a wren flew across the road and perched in a tree. I stopped to watch. It fluffed up its feathers and began to sing. For such a small bird it produces a remarkably loud noise. The world seemed to stand still. There was not a breath of wind, no traffic noise and even the sheep were quiet. Unlike Coleridge and his man from Porlock, no-one else was on the road to disturb the peace. The wren finished its song, fluffed up its feathers and flew away. A pair of cyclists came round the bend and the world began again. That one perfect moment was over, but I did enjoy it.

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 12°C and overcast. The hot week ended yesterday when a cold front moved in. It brought us lots of rain and the gardens look very lush today. Tonight and tomorrow night there is actually a chance of frost, which is just crazy! I am going to have to get creative covering my cucumbers, squash, and peppers.
I want to get the rest of my flowers planted today and the back gardens weeded. So much to do!!
Have a great day all :)

It is a good day today! On Wednesday we had a hail storm, and when I surveyed the gardens it looked like the cucumbers, squash, and peppers were goners. Today I went out to weed and weep, and the cucumbers and squash were putting out new leaves and blossoms, the peppers were adding little leaves and we even have a teeny-tiny pepper, and the tomatoes, while they need trimming, are setting tomatoes. I picked a good basket of green beans and dibbled for red potatoes (guess what is for dinner tonight!). I had cat help weeding around the tomatoes and picking beans.
    Oh, what a wonderful morning!

Good Friday morning all. Currently 14°C and clear.
TGIF! What a busy week I've had! I've been hard at work at my place of employment as well as trying to get my own gardens in order. Grass has needed to be cut twice this week and I have clients that want me to help in their gardens as well. My feet are killing me!
One more day to go, and tomorrow I get to sleep in!
Have a great day all :)

Ach Palu-- that takes me back, WAAAAY back. S.T. Colerige. We had Kubli Khan and the 'Rime of ' as mandatory reading and study back in the day at uni. I had not heard that quote from W.H. Davies before though. Actually it is part of such an important little poem. A good idea for folks to read and think about, as the words seemed true before this Covid business.

Good Monday morning all. Currently just 9°C and overcast. I'm a little tired today, despite going to bed at a respectable time.
Off to work, lots to be done. Hoping to get everything watered and the veggie patch rototilled. Simple garden there this year ... nothing but pumpkins and gourds.
Have a great day all :)

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 11°C and clear. It's going to be a scorcher today and there is a heat warning in effect. I'll be trying to work around the shade today.
Have a great day all :)

Good morning! Today was the day we took Buddy to the vet for his annual check-up (Buddy's, not the vet's). He fought like a demon to stay out of the carrier, but after four tries we got him in. At the vet he came out of the carrier, laid on the table and was Mr. Charming. Three vaccinations, worm medicine and a thorough hands-on massage to check muscle tone, stomach, and leg strength, he went back into the carrier like a lamb. That vet knows something we need to know!
We are taking the rest of the day off. We were never trained to be cat handlers!
