Ron says this is Monkey grass!

I have always understood Monkey grass to be a low-to-the-ground ground cover. This is definitely NOT low to the ground!

Who’s right???

 

I once had a plant like this in my garden, its Latin name was--Pennisetum setaceum 'Rubrum'.

 

It is fountain grass not monkey grass !

 

Thank you all!! What do we do with it in the winter? I’m guessing it will die back, but do we just trim it back as well?

 

make sure you keep it watered during the Winter though. even though it is dormant it still needs moisture. if it freezes dry it will kill it, too.
