Carolyn, it has snowed twice before since we moved to Texas. Both times were a skiff, 1" or less. According to the news, this is a record-breaking snowfall for our area. I hope it is a "once in a century" occurrence. If so, I'll be safe and snowless!

Good Monday morning all. Currently -2°C and sunny. No snow falling here in Southern Ontario today, so thanks for taking one for the team Texans ;)
Enjoy it while it lasts, which I'm sure wont be long.
My spring cleaning continues this morning. I have lots for the recycling truck tomorrow, and some extra garbage. I've also had good luck posting items for free on local social media. Been working out great ... People actually come over and take away my unwanted items!
Have a great day all :)

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently -1°C and overcast.
Well, my dreams of being out of lockdown have been shattered. All of Ontario has been placed in a "stay at home order" as of tomorrow.
Not exactly sure what that means as not a lot seems to be changing in terms of what is open. They say people can be out if there are getting groceries, medication, exercising, getting necessities or going to work. I guess they are just going to start enforcing numbers at big box stores and cracking down on those that continue to have gatherings - which should have been done months ago if you ask me! So frustrating for those of us that have been following the guidelines since March!!
    Spring cleaning continues today.
Have a great day all :)

Netty, I share your frustration with the lack of adherence to the guidelines. The next person who tells me "I got my rights" is going to see stars!
I went to the feed store today which counts as a trip to the grocery, and to the people-food grocery, and the dollar store for plastic storage bags. Greeted friends at a distance, and chatted with my favorite grocery workers (which is everyone that works there--such a nice bunch of people!).
This afternoon I'll make French bread. To my horror I discovered we had only one loaf in the freezer. I have been so remiss

Good Thursday morning all. Currently 0°C and overcast. It is very gloomy out and I think rain may be in the forecast.
Yesterday I updated my dads family tree book that I made him way back in 2001. My youngest daughter and son in law were missing, as well as my grandsons. There were lots of other updates to be added as well and I think he will be pleased. Today spring cleaning will continue. I'm wishing I could paint a few rooms but its too hard to get paint mixed right now with the lockdown in place.
Have a great day all :)

Good Friday morning all. Currently -2°C and overcast with a strong east wind. I can only assume that means we will have some rain.
Lots of laundry to do today, and then off to Dads later.
Have a great day all :)

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently -5°C and snowing.
Spent yesterday afternoon cleaning out and organizing my craft room. This was a job I wanted to do in November so I'm glad that I was finally able to get to it. I'm not finished yet, but it sure looks a lot better already! I also had my first seed order delivered yesterday :setf_016:
Today, I'm going to spend part of the day in the kitchen and then its off to Dads late this afternoon.
Have a great day all :)

Good Tuesday morning to all! It's rainy, but not cold, and the cats are sheltering and the hens are refusing to go to the outside coop. We are staying inside, too!
I sorted out my seed packets to get the "plant now indoors", the "these go into the ground in February", and the "wait until April" seed organized and on my gardening calendar. We are planting more than we had expected so we will have fresh vegetables for the food pantry. I see a lot of hoeing and cultivating in my future!

Good Thursday morning all. Currently -2°C and overcast.
Another 'blah' kind of day, but I'm OK with that since it has been mild. Every time it gets sunny it gets really cold.
I've gotten 2 out of 3 seed orders so far, and have realized that I really need a better way to store my seeds! I currently keep them in a peach basket, and have for years without a problem. I really would like something that would be a little more organized, and have a lid. I've been looking at storage containers but haven't found one I like yet.
A little spring cleaning this morning and then off to Dads this afternoon. Have a great day all :)
