Cats are a most curious creature. This one appears to be no exception. We had a cat once that did not like to be picked up, until I showed it a window it could not see out of. Window to window it would not squirm till it had seen them all(no repeats). Then it would have no part of being held. Another cats curiosity almost cost it one of its remaining 4 lives. Yes, it had easily used up 5 of them. A story for a different time. Jerry

We have a resident bobcat down by the pond. She has her abode in a brush pile and we've seen her patrolling the pond perimeter and bringing her kits to drink at pond's edge. She has never ventured near the house except once, when I saw her along the pasture fence line. She, and the hawks, keep the vole/mice population in check. She looks like a fur covered brick--all muscle and attitude!
Yeah Mart, they look big. They look attractive as a wild animal. Very interesting. Thanks for that link mate.
Our cat wants so badly to go outside but 18" of snow with drifts over 2'. Cooper needs to wait a few days.
They are really beautiful animals and d not bother livestock here ! There was a resident bobcat where I lived before ! He patrolled the housing complex and ocassionally you could see him sitting by the road watching the cars passing by ! He was well fed but no pet ! He was as big as our German Shepherd ! Or so it looked to me ! Big cat ! We also have a few here but they stay in the wooded areas !
It seems quite an interesting animal. I read how much they like voles, boy I could use one in my garden. Well, if they can be as large as a german shepherd, then that is something to be reckoned with. We have lynxes over here, and it looks like it could be related.
They are very similar to a lynx ! Probably the main difference is where they are located and what they are called ! JJust different common names !
