I made errors in my 1st attempt..lets see if I can complete this without any more messups
Beddington Church is a beautiful Park, as above..just a small part of it shown. Beddington is historical and the River Wandle dominated the area and provided two mills one I worked in for many years as our children grew up..Local for me so easy to fit around family life....The Mills I worked in was Wandle Mills but orginally called Beddington Mills
The Domesday Book mentions two Mills at Beddington, and the current one is thought to have been the site of one of these. Once erroneously thought to have been owned in the late 16th century by Sir Walter Raleigh, an early 17th-century lease shows that it was in fact owned by the Carew family as a flour mill. In 1805 it was a snuff mill with a new owner, and it changed hands several times before being burnt down and replaced by the current building in 1891-2 by Wallis & Co as a flour mill and bakery.

The old – 18th-century or earlier – mill house remains to this day. I worked first in the Mill House as Office Staff for a lampshade company that also occupied the Mills. We moved in permanently to the Mills in around 1975/76. Today it has been converted to up market apartments...Ces't la vie....

Yes with my late Dad. I have been married forever now, as We say, no remission for good behaviour.
Yes I loved that village when we moved there,steeped in History, but time has not been kind to so many places in the UK. They like to replace new from the old buildings that were the heart and soul of the place at one time. Here is the Road I lived in one year after getting 'hitched' ....
How it was many moons ago and our house would be just around the next bend...but of course it was not even built then.



..Around 1935 our house was built and we were on the river bank in this old photo with our house going up steps to the front door and the back garden was in three levels to get to the top....The old photo shows the River Wandle that fed the Mills back then in the19th Century.This is a more recent photo I found on the internet when our old house was up for sale...


Our house was the one with the blue thingy on the steps and the monstrosity at the end, a fairly new building with many apartments and a underground car park, was our neighbours driveway and a small woodland area...

Another Beautiful Building the Bath Abbey. Would love to go inside these buildings for their architecture and there presence. We have, here in France some of the most treasured buildings and although, particularly churches are cared for they are not used so much these days.

The Abbey has been undergoing major renovations. They’ve installed central heating fed by the hot water from the spa in the Pump Rooms.

 

France has the largest Church in the Whole of the World, apparently.
Would make an interesting thread..buildings of interest..could be old or new....
renovations..people need it as well, especially in the Media, so much brainwashing occurring, a sign of our times..a nip and tuck as a norm almost,...How we are to people is the important aspect of humans, not their looks...Still nice to have a glimpse of others that you pass in the Garden..Await the next mug shot...

 

Here I am at eighteen. It's a passport photo. I was a "Modernist" ( a modern jazz lover, not a "Mod." They came later wore fur trimmed parkas and rode Lambrettas witrh a host of rear view mirrors, none of which they ever used)
I'm in my shadow striped black/grey Italian style box jacket, button-down collared shirt and knitted tie. Worn with slim-line trousers and chisel toed shoes.
