The Good Day All Thread

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 6°C and overcast.
I must have worked too hard yesterday. My fingers are very sore, my back and shoulders are stiff, and I feel very unmotivated. I guess I deserve a day of rest!
I have 2 pots of chick peas soaking so I'll have to cook them and get them canned up. But other than that, it will be a lazy day.

Yesterday had sunshine and showers all day. Today it's sunny with a gentle breeze from the west north west temp 2c

My car has sat overnight with a load of flowers inside. It's all fogged up!
Will have to wipe down before I drive away. Tis the season of foggy, dirty cars!

Had sunshine and showers again today.

 

But Netty, doesn't your car smell terrific?
I weeded the squash bed, potted up some Italian Oregano, weeded the garlic, once again!, and then did laundry and watched my dear husband mow. It has been so rainy that he is behind on his mowing schedule (he's an engineer and has charts and schedules for almost everything except the cats) and the grass was getting pretty high.

 

Good Thursday morning all. Currently 4°C and cloudy. I'm not sure of our forecast today, but we are due for a day of sunshine.
It has been raining for what feels like forever, and everything is completely saturated. I'm not complaining as it was freakishly dry here a few weeks ago, however a day or 2 of sunshine would be nice so we could get the grass cut!

Good Thursday afternoon all. It's been sunshine and showers today again.

 

Oh joy, the broccoli is finally heading up! I took a look at it on the way back from turning out the hens this morning, and we have tiny heads! This year has been so strange (understatement!) that I feared I put it out too late.
I've fertilized the roses and petted cats, and cut up, blanched, and frozen a head of cauliflower (from the grocery, and on sale). I'm not sure, but I may be a "food hoarder." Husband says it's okay if I am, as long as it is food and not toilet paper!

 

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 2°C and sunny.
We've been for our walk, and now I'm getting ready to go see my dad. My new Saturday morning routine always starts with a visit to Dad at the assisted living home. It makes his day to get visitors, especially since Covid restricts his visitors to his 2 caregivers.
After that its home to cut grass and hopefully get another raised bed assembled and filled. Darling daughter also wants help putting her trampoline up. Lots of gardening to do too, so its going to be another busy day!

Good Saturday afternoon all it's raining today so washed my hair and just do the doggy walks and dinner.

I had a lovely visit with Dad yesterday, and then home and assembled a raised bed. Just as I was about to start cutting grass, an amazing surprise arrived. My daughter, SIL and my 2 grandsons (ages 1.5 and 3) drove in! We had a lovely visit, looked at gardens, had a walk, and went over to the neighbors farm to see the cows and tractors. The boys love their farm animal and tractor books so watching them see real ones was priceless! Best early mothers day gift ever
Today, I have grass to cut, beds to fill and a trampoline to assemble!

It's Tuesday, my regular day to go into town and to the grocery, but the fog is preventing that. I never knew that Texas had almost as much "pea soup" as London, but I'm learning!
After tending to the hens this morning I decided to forego the pleasures of town, and stay home and clean and bake.
Husband is in the workshop, putting the finishing touches on a new bathroom cabinet. He has Cali helping--nothing like a cat in the rafters watching to make sure you do it right!

 

Well, I just had my day made!
Every day I watch a live safari stream from South Africa (WildEarth if anyone is interested, they stream on their website, Facebook, YouTube and Twitch). You can send in questions, and Final Control will send those to the guides who will answer. Every so often, they will pull random comments from chat. Well, they sent one of my comments to my favorite guide! I just said "Feel free to send some of that heat my way"

Got the pressure cooker going then it's time to take the boys for their walks and then dinner, do the washing up then the boys will have their final walk.

It's been such a busy week so far! We are finally just today getting nice weather, it has been cool and wet. I actually saw a few snow flakes on Tuesday!
