After experiencing several power outages, ranging from an hour or two to longer, we purchased two of these solar powered lanterns. Each charge lasts eight hours, there are different levels of light, and they can be used over and over again. The newer ones have the capacity to charge phones. We got our first one free from our power company (think they didn't have much confidence in their service?) and after using it once or twice, decided to get two more. Husband ordered them on-line from Walmart who said they were in the store, but weren't. They are called Luminas, and are easily recharged on a sunny day. I recommend them for campers and for those who have power outages.

Logan, the lights can be charged by an electric light, and the charge stays until needed. The "lamp light" charge takes a long time, but it does work. You can charge up when the power is on, and use the lights when needed.
I keep a supply of those little emergency lights that work on AAA batteries ! They stick on the wall and switch on and off same as regular light switch ! I have one or two in every room and a supply stored plus large package of batteries !
We've got 4 number 20 watt solar panels that charge 3 leisure batteries. I've fitted a car charger socket that will charge phones and AA/AAA and or lithium batteries. For other things like laptops there's an inverter that gives 230AC.
Dirtmechanic, that is one version of the luminas. We have the simple version without the phone charging feature. I believe they can be found at most outdoor/camping stores.
Zigs fixed this light up from the solar panels - it's a nice bright light which lights up the living room upstairs and shines down over the rail down into the kitchen. I can read or knit by it upstairs and it's good enough to cook by downstairs. We also bought a camping shower. it's rechargeable (by solar) and not too expensive. You stick the motor in a bucket of hot water (heated by a kettle on the gas) and string it up in the shower cubicle. The motor works fine, but haven't used it yet. The reviews reckon it will go for about 3 minutes! We are turning into proper preppers

We got one of these as well. It's a power bank as well as a light - to help with powering things up from the electricity while it's on and the solar when it's off. That should take care of a few bits.
I think I will be disorganized when it comes to storing prepped things. Especially after some years. I cannot find paperwork from last month sometimes.
