Don't think that the hedgehog will be around tonight, it's pouring of rain and they don't like getting wet.

I think you're right, we didn't see ours last night either as it was wet, only Marcel the field mouse was caught by the camera.

Think that there's some baby hedgehogs coming round to feed, there's been tiny poo in the feeding station.

Just had to buy a new feeding station, I was moving the old one to clean the floor and when i put it back it cracked around the opening. Could have put tape over it but when hubby was cleaning it he managed to break the top of it. It was probably getting brittle from the sun, it's been 3 years now since we bought it.

The plastic of the box I use is much the same. I've duct tape around the entrance to stop it cracking there and a bit at the back, where I had to make a slot to attach a hook anchored by a bit of wood attached to the food saucer, to stop it being moved near the front..

It only has dry food and water in there at the moment, just in case it comes out of hibernation. I may treat it to a new box next year.

I did find that using the lid as the floor worked well. I cut the lip off it under the entrance to make a flat threshold.

It meant that every day I could stick the "floor" under a tap over a house drain and brush off any poo and pee it left, so it was quite clean for the "next sitting."

Yes I'll put some duck tape on it thanks, and I did think about using the lid as a base.

Still getting them coming around, they made a mess of the feeding station, it had been moved and the bricks at the entrance was knocked around.

They've gone into hibernation now, haven't seen them for over a week.

It has been very entertaining to read this year's hedgehog stories.
The pictures and videos were great!
I look forward to next year's adventures!

    I wish we had hedgehogs.
    We have skunks instead.
Although they are just as beneficial to gardens as hedgehogs are, I've never heard of gardeners trying to attract skunks to their gardens.

At 2pm today our next door neighbour came round, she and her daughter found a young hedgehog in the gutter by the side of the road. We put it in a shoe box with a hot water bottle that was covered with a old t shirt. We gave her the no. of someone who takes in hedgehogs and looks after them over the winter. They put it in the porch to wait for them to come round, don't know what has happened yet.

You can give that little beast some water and pet food. Ask Riley what sort of canned food. It is a bit of an alarming story.
