I want to start a food garden in my basement. I figured I start with 2 to 4 of easiest fruits or vegetables to grow. I just have no idea where to start. Like what kind of pots do I buy? Soil? I don't think I could do hydroponic plants. Is that harder than soil? What kind of lights should I use? I mean amazon has its suggestions but who are they ya know? I'm taking any an all advice. Thank you so much!

Pots ? The larger the better ! Buy good topsoil,, not potting soil ! I assume you will use grow lights rather than any natural light ! Basements are usually without windows ! If you are in an area that has compost thats even better ! Some towns do have it ! Are you going smart or organic ?

Marissa, I haven't a clue regarding growing things in a basement.

In researching growing inside, it was recommended to use store bought soils to avoid importing any pests into your indoor garden.
