Kitchen Excesses

    We were going to try making chocolate chip cookies again when I had the bright idea to try making peanut butter cookies. Peanut stuff is very popular here, so peanut butter cookies seemed a natural choice before we go back to the cc cookie challenge.

    So then mates, the suggestion continued to expand— you know I like oatmeal cookies don’t you. So then perhaps soft oatmeal cookies would be a better choice to experiment with. I was getting excited now. Soft oatmeal cookies. I began to smile.

    The final choice was to make soft peanut butter-oatmeal-chocolate chip cookies. Is this excessive?

    Not excessive at all....have you considered adding raisins to the Dough?

    Thanks so much Toni. I have been feeling excessive, especially when I was eating them.

    No, I have not thought about adding raisins. What a good idea. If I had thought about them, I would have definitely chucked some in. I mean, I like raisin bread and in savoury meals, so why not cookies. (Smacks palm on forehead).

    Well I reckon those look really professional.

    When I first started making cakes, they always turned out flat. My mum told me to stick a handful of dessicated coconut into the mix, and it seemed to work a treat. There's coconut in most stuff I knock up still - it's the only way :worried:

    Speaking of excesses, I looked at my pasta stash to see if we needed any more of any of the seven types/shapes of pasta. I think I may have gone overboard with pastas. I can't choose a favorite and just try to match a pasta with the dish being prepared.
    What pastas do you like, and how do you use them?

    Now those look really good ! Whatever you did just apply it to CC cookie recipe ! And add the raisins !

    As to pastas,, I like them all except the tiny ones !

    I like pasta that has added protein. I think it is more flavorful.

    I put 2 teaspoons of baking (edit:powder) into self rising cornmeal flour. It entertained Becky with fluffness.. Does that count as excessive?

    Jane, we use fusilli, spaghetti sorts, penne, orecchiette nr. 9, tagliatelle and linguini.

    We usually use whatever pasta comes to hand, but as Zigs decided he doesn't like rice :rolleyes: I have bought orzo in it's place - just to keep him happy (spoilt rotten he is)

    Ah Tetters, if we can't spoil our fellers rotten, what's the point in having fellers? I cook my husband's favorites, try to cater to his palate, and he has learned to eat what is placed in front of him, clean his plate, compliment the "chef", and help clear the table!
